-'Stuart Reynolds', played by Kyle Cormier, is a combination of Stuart Macher from Scream and Ryan Reynolds from Amityville.

-'Casey', played by Caitlyn MacDonald, was the name of Drew Barrymore's character in Scream.

-Nelson MacDonald plays Detective Prescott. Prescott was the last name of Neve Campbell's character in Scream.

-Sarah 'Ryan', played by Amanda Ferguson, is taken from Ryan Reynolds.

-'Randy Roddick' played by Gregory A. White, is a combination of Randy Meeks from Scream, and Andy Roddick, White's favorite tennis player.

-Aaron MacKinnon's character, Kenny Meeks, is a combination of Jamie Kennedy (Kenny) and his character Randy Meeks from Scream. Kenny was also the name of the cameraman from Scream.

-The family name in the Amityville Horror is 'Lutz'. The Reaper features a character, played by Jenn McPhee, named 'Heather Lutz'.
